On November 28, 2010, we first posted Love Letter # 15 to this blog. Like the site itself, it was inspired by a woman we had loved madly.
At the time of its original uploading, she and I were still (rarely) in contact. The fire had died; or rather, it was one-sided. An inferno in my house.
Now, years later, I am rekindling the flame, if only for three and a half minutes. Since late 2023, I have been working on a YT channel, Old Man Dancing Badly. As well as strutting my stuff to various songs, I like to diverge. In this instance, we were prompted to ‘dance’ to one of our old love letters.
I dedicate the above video, as I did the original missive, to the one who started the fire. She will almost certainly never see the dance or chance upon the letter, but this is not an attempt to reach out to her. It is instead an act of honouring.
